THE AUSTIN Agada faction of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclaimed a meeting of critical stakeholders convened by the Benjamin Omakolo faction called for Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Lawn Tennis Court, Government House, Makurdi by 10am.
The announcement, dated April 29, 2024, and personally signed by Hon. Omakolo as the acting state chairman of the APC, revealed that the stakeholders’ meeting will be attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, the Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, all appointees of the governor, APC State Working Committee (SWC), local government council chairmen and other critical stakeholders.
But in a swift reaction, the Agada faction of the APC later on Monday dissociated itself from the meeting and informed party members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard any notice for a stakeholders meeting of the party.
According to a statement signed by Dan-Morgan Ihomun, Agada’s factional Publicity Secretary of the APC, the invitation for the stakeholders’ meeting was made by an “illegal and unknown group hence the disclaimer.”

“By this notice, we totally disassociate the party from the so-called stakeholders meeting or any other assembly promoted by illegal groups.
“Party members are urged to ignore the invitation as it is coming from persons unknown to the party. Members of our party are well aware of our channels of communication and are urged to continue to look up to them for update on all programmes and activities of the party in the state.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to members of our great party for their unwavering support to the APC”, the statement read in part.
