THE ALL Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, appointing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo as campaign coordinators in territories where they are not members of the ruling party.
Under the revised structure, Wike will coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Rivers State and the FCT, while Adeleke will coordinate the campaign in Osun State and Soludo will oversee campaign activities in Anambra State.
The appointments are part of an expanded campaign structure containing serving governors, former governors, ministers, lawmakers and other political figures.
The APC said the revised council will be inaugurated by President Tinubu on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari retains his position as Director-General of the campaign council. President Tinubu is to chair the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda among the vice-chairmen. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are also listed as vice-chairmen.
Other senior appointments include former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Deputy Director-General for Administration; Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu as Deputy Director-General, South II; and Works Minister, David Umahi, as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation.
Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, is listed as South-South Deputy Coordinator for State Assemblies Mobilisation. Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, will serve as Director of Finance, while Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and Zacch Adedeji will coordinate fundraising.
Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, is named Director for Stakeholder Mobilisation, while former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, will coordinate stakeholder mobilisation in the South-West. Chief Ayiri Emami is assigned as Director for Special Duties, while former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo, is to serve as Deputy Director for Sports Sector Mobilisation.
Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, remains the campaign council’s official spokesman. The communications team will also include Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Lere Olayinka, an aide to Wike, and Segun Sowunmi.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, remains Secretary of the council, assisted by APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman as deputy and assistant secretaries, respectively. Representative James Faleke will serve as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
Former Gombe State Governor and PDP senator, Ibrahim Dankwambo, is among the advisers to the campaign council, alongside Obafemi George, who is listed as an adviser on media. The expanded council also includes other former governors and political figures.
Cross-Party Dimension
The inclusion of Wike, Adeleke and Soludo is particularly notable because their appointments extend beyond the APC’s formal membership structure, placing politicians from different political platforms inside the organisational framework for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Wike remains a prominent factional PDP figure while serving as FCT Minister in the APC-led federal government. In March 2026, he said the PDP would participate in the 2027 elections and urged its members to mobilise for the polls.
Adeleke contested and won the August 2026 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party. He defeated APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, with 511,067 votes to 444,815, according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Soludo, meanwhile, is associated with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). In March 2026, APGA announced its support for Tinubu’s bid for a second presidential term, saying it would align with the APC on the presidential contest.
Campaign Preparations
The revised council builds on the structure initially announced by the presidency in August. At the time, Tinubu and Shettima were named chairman and vice-chairman respectively, Yari was appointed Director-General, and Uzodimma was named secretary. The original structure also included APC leaders and former governors in advisory and mobilisation roles.
The expansion comes as political parties prepare for the 2027 elections. INEC’s updated election calendar schedules January 16, 2027 for the presidential and National Assembly elections and February 6, 2027, for governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
