THE BENUE State University (BSU) management has halted the issuance of Statement of Results and Certificates to graduates subject to presentation of evidence of payment of Benue State University Alumni Association (BSUAA) charges which had hitherto been the practice.
In a press release signed by the Registrar of the university, Dr Mrs Mfaga Modom, the management explained that the decision “became necessary but without prejudice to any arrangement made by the Alumni Association to collect their charges as may be deemed expedient without obligation by the university”.

National Record however gathered from a dependable source that the decision of the university’s authority is not far from the leadership tussle rocking BSUAA which many people attributed to those charges paid by graduates as prerequisite for acquisition of statement of results and certificates.
Just last month, the transition committee of BSUAA headed by Comrade Solomon Atavti accused the BSU authority on social media of allegedly conniving with a faction of the Alumni led by Comrade Lawrence Vihimga to siphon BSUAA’s funds.
The BSU authority did not take the accusation lightly and threatened to take legal action against the committee, forcing Atavti to write a disclaimer on Facebook that the author of the post had misquoted him and was on his own.
