THE SPECIAL Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on International Investment, Hon. Alex Addingi, has listed the benefits to accrue to Benue State from the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) it signed with Sinoski System Limited and Shanghai Haitian Hospital for partnership.

In his interaction with journalists in his office on Tuesday, Hon. Addingi said Governor Alia was concerned about power generation and that’s why the government signed the MOU with a very reputable company in China that produces hybrid solar panels, saying the government was going to start with solar panels.

“These solar panels will have raw materials, what we call silicon, we have the finest sand in River Benue which looks like it doesn’t have value. We are turning this raw material to the highest level of solar panels”, Addingi gave insight.

He also revealed that the next phase will be the production of lithium batteries for renewable energy, adding that there is finest lithium in Logo local government area of the state.

“This is not only going to be about producing electricity but also producing electric vehicles that can be exported to Europe. Even in small cottage industries, churches and villages, will be able to have their independent power. So, Benue State is not just going to produce power for itself. We are going to export power to other states”, Addingi expressed optimism.

Asked how soon the project will materialize, Addingi said companies and machineries are already on ground to commence work upon approval by the state government.

He assured that Benue was going to be fully industrialized under Alia’s administration and solicited partnership from journalists to “bring out the positivities of what governor Alia is doing” .

On the MOU signed with the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) Hon. Addingi said it is one of the best things to happen to Benue state and the entire country because some reputable companies like the Shanghai hospital are coming to “install their high-tech medical equipment and are treating the ailments that we may not be able to treat that are sometimes not treated in Abuja or other places”.  He said Benue state would become a medical tourism by virtue of the partnership.

According to him, the government of Shanghai is also going to help Benue State in terms of academics as there’s going to be transfer of knowledge.

“We have already earmarked that they are going to send some young Doctors over there and some nurses, laboratories and other experts. But beyond that, the government is going to earmark where the young ones who are just finishing college will be able to study Mandarin and get their HSK so that they can get scholarship easily to go to China. China is running the world. The technology in the US and Europe is being driven by China. So, it’s going to be a great thing to Benue to find out that we have partnership for our young people to go there and study on scholarships,” Addingi intimated.
