BENUE State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has unfrozen bank accounts of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) limited locked since his inauguration into office on May 29, 2023.
Information Officer of the agency, Mr Peter Asema, confirmed the unfreezing of the accounts to National Record via a phone call on Friday.
In a statement on Thursday appreciating Fr. Alia, BIPC Managing Director, Dr Raymond Asemakaha, said the governor has paid seven months’ salary arrears owed staff of the agency.
He added that the governor also approved the end of the year special bonus, otherwise known as “13th month” as well as four months allowances for all the staff of the company.
Dr Asemakaha, on behalf of the Management and Staff of BIPC, expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for “putting smiles on the faces of the staff and brightening the atmosphere of the workplace.” He acknowledged that “there is no better motivation than this!”.

He particularly thanked the governor for believing in his leadership and the ability of the staff to transform the company into a global investment destination with ease of doing business. Asemakaha called on all staff to give their best in utmost dedication to duty as a response to the kind gesture extended to them by the governor.
