BENUE State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Dr Jimmy Terhemen Ajim as the Director General (DG), Plenipotentiary and Liaison Affairs, Abuja, effective immediately.
Governor Alia, who expressed belief that Dr Ajim’s experience and record of service will benefit his government, charged him to remain focused, align his work with the administration’s vision and prioritise the state’s interest in his official functions.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Tersoo Kula, Ajim’s appointment is the latest move by Governor Alia to strengthen his administration’s capacity to deliver effective governance to the people of Benue State.
Ajim is therefore expected to bring his wealth of experience to the role, given his strong background in Leadership and Management, Public Relations, Protocol, Diplomacy, and Logistics. With him at the helm, the state’s liaison office in Abuja is expected to play a key role in promoting the interests of Benue State at the national level.
According to Kula, Ajim, until his new appointment, held various positions at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) office in Nigeria and London, including Liaison Officer, Protocol and Logistics officer, Executive officer (External Relations) as well as Senior Manager, Protocol (office of the Minister of State for Petroleum), Abuja.
Ajim is a graduate of Kingston University, London, and Zug University, Switzerland.
