POWER has been restored to Orozo, Kurudu, Jikwoyi and Karu following an interruption on the Apo–Karu 132-kilovolt (KV) transmission line.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) disclosed in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday that power supply had been interrupted at about 5:31 p.m. on Monday after the transmission line tripped, resulting in a loss of supply to the Karu substation.
The company said its engineers, during a physical inspection of the line, identified a cut jumper on the yellow phase at Tower T2.
According to TCN, its maintenance crew carried out urgent repairs on the affected section of the line, with power supply restored at 11:23 a.m. on Tuesday.
The company said the outage had affected electricity supply to customers in Karu, Nyanya, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba and adjoining areas.
TCN apologised for the inconvenience caused by the incident and thanked affected electricity consumers for their understanding.
