IN A bold move to transform Nigeria’s public sector, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has announced a ground-breaking partnership with the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) to accelerate the digitisation and upskilling of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the Federal Government.

A press statement on Wednesday, signed by Mr Akin Ogunlade, Head, Public Affairs/Protocol Unit of DBI stated that this collaboration aligns perfectly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises efficiency, transparency, and innovation in governance through digital transformation.

A New Era of Digital Excellence in Public Service

During a high-profile courtesy visit by DBI’s President/CEO, Mr. David Daser, to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCSF), both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to equipping Nigeria’s civil servants with 21st-century digital skills.

“Our vision is clear – to modernise public service delivery through ICT. We will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that every civil servant is digitally empowered and every MDA operates at global standards. This partnership with DBI is a game-changer,” Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasised.

Why This Partnership Matters

According to Mr. Daser, with its six campuses across Nigeria’s geo-political zones (Abuja, Asaba, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, and Yola), DBI has a nationwide reach and therefore uniquely positioned to deliver large-scale ICT training to civil servants nationwide.

He assured that DBI will provide customised digital training programs, strategic partnerships, and cutting-edge ICT solutions to enhance productivity across MDAs.

He noted that DBI’s initiatives support the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program championed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, to therefore further bridge the digital divide.

“As an institution with deep expertise in both private and public sector digital transformation, DBI is proud to collaborate with the Head of Service in building a future-ready civil service.

“Together, we will drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence, Mr. Daser reiterated DBI’s readiness to support the OHCSF.”

A Unified Push for a Smarter Government

The broad objective of this strategic engagement, both parties assured, marks a major leap forward in Nigeria’s quest for a digitally empowered public sector.

By the partnership to leverage on DBI’s expertise, the government is set to enhance service delivery through automation and digital workflows, boost workforce competence with advanced ICT training, and foster transparency and accountability in governance.

If this partnership materialises, Nigeria’s civil service is on track to becoming a model of digital efficiency in Africa.
