THE PEOPLE of Konshisha LGA of Benue State have appealed to Governor Hyacinth Alia to fulfil his promise to construct roads in the area.
The governor had on April 28, 2024 during a thanksgiving mass/reception at Tse-Agberagba, organised in his honour by the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha LGAs, known as Ityõ I Jechira (Jechira kinsmen), pledged to construct two major roads in the federal constituency. The two deplorable roads are Vandeikya-Korinya-Tse-Agberagba-Gungul-Awajir and Ge-Ikyobo-Agbeede-Anshagba-Iber roads. But six months after the promise, work is yet to commence on these roads.
Speaking during a thanksgiving reception and conferment of chieftaincy title on the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, at Tse-Agberagba last Sunday, chairman, central planning committee of the event, James Jinge, also requested Alia to construct the road from Engr Ujege’s house through chairman’s house to Tse-Agberagba secretariat.
“As our governor likes Iorpev, he should open his book to remember the promises he made to Konshisha people for his sake. If the governor constructs the road from Ujege’s house to chairman’s house through the council secretariat to where we are standing now (RCM Primary School, Iorkighir, Tse-Agberagba), this town will look beautiful. So, may the governor open his book to remember Iorpev about this road.
Highlight of the event was the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Akinde u Konshisha on Chief Solomon Iorpev and his wife as Mule u Akinde by the Konshisha traditional council led by HRH Chief Thomas Jam Gbinde.
