PHILIP Agbese, Representative for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue, has floated a new political network tagged `Renewed Hope Labourers Network’ (RHOLAN), to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Agbese, a serving Labour Party member in the House of Representatives said the organisation was a cross-party platform of visionary politicians and activists backing President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, Agbese said the group’s central mission was to mobilise people at the grassroots, especially those commonly referred to as labourers across Nigeria for the re-election of President Tinubu.

Agbese, the founder and Director-General of the group, reiterated the readiness of members to work for President Tinubu’s re-election across the 176,846 polling units in the country.

“We are people ready to work for President Tinubu across in the 176,846 polling units across Nigeria.

“This is not about party. It is about belief in the leadership and philosophy of President Tinubu,” he said.

He described every voter in various polling units in the country as important coordinators required in the project and that every one of them are like labourers who believe in what the president is doing for the nation.

According to him, our mobilisation and networking will be the first of its kind in the history of this country.

Agbese explained that the group would use technology to connect directly with grassroots people as well as showcase the president’s achievements in clear and practical terms aimed at securing national support.

“The ordinary labourer in the market, in the farm, at the construction sites and in the informal sector must see and feel the progress,” Agbese said.

He lauded President Tinubu’s leadership philosophy of fiscal realism, infrastructure expansion and productive economic reform, saying that it has offered the clearest pathway for lifting the very people who formed the backbone of Nigeria’s workforce.

Agbese said Tinubu’s policies on agriculture, power, roads and social investment were already creating new possibilities that many grassroots labourers are beginning to experience.

He said: “President Tinubu has chosen the difficult but necessary path of resetting the economy so that it can work for the many rather than the few.”

He reiterated the group’s plans to deploy digital tools alongside traditional grassroots methods to educate citizens on the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and to counter narratives that ignore the long-term benefits of the reforms.

Agbese stressed that the network’s focus remains the ordinary Nigerian who wakes up every day to labour for a better life.

He maintained that the decision to support the president was rooted in a clear-eyed assessment of what sustained reform can deliver for workers and their families.

“We are not here for politics as usual. We are here because we believe in the leadership and philosophy of President Tinubu.

“We believe his reforms, if given the chance to mature, will rewrite the story of the Nigerian labourer.”

Agbese said his decision to support President Tinubu’s re-election is also driven by the need to ensure the consolidation of the reforms already initiated by the administration.

He said that the economic and institutional changes currently underway require continuity to deliver their full benefits, stressing that abandoning the reforms midway could undermine the gains already being recorded.

Agbese said that a second term would provide Tinubu with the opportunity to deepen, refine and institutionalise the policies in ways that would translate into more sustainable benefits for ordinary Nigerians.

He, however, acknowledged some short-term difficulties of the reforms, saying their long-term objective is to build a stronger and more productive economy capable of creating opportunities for millions of Nigerians. (NAN)
