The National Population Commission (NPC) has inaugurated online e-recruitment portal for ad-hoc staff who will carry out population and housing census in April, 2023.
NPC Commissioner representing Benue State, Ms Patricia Kupchi, who announced this on Monday at a press briefing in Makurdi, stated that no fewer than fifteen thousand staff will be recruited.
According to Kupchi, the categories of ad-hoc staff to be recruited include facilitators; training centre administrators; monitoring and evaluation officers; data quality managers; data quality assistants; supervisors; and enumerators.
She added that the number of personnel to be recruited in each of the categories will depend on the number of available vacancies in each state, which will be sourced from the total number of Enumeration Areas (EAs) in the states and that the bulk of personnel for the 2023 census will be drawn from communities where they are resident.
Kupchi explained that the NPC introduced the online e-recruitment portal to ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment process. She directed interested persons to log on to: http://2023censusadhocrecruitment.nationalpopulation.gov.ng, to apply.
