Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have submitted the names of five presidential aspirants to President Muhammadu Buhari to pick a consensus candidate for the party.
The names submitted include the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State); Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation; and Governor Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State).
The name of Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was however missing from the list.
Findings by National Record indicate that the President is yet to announce his choice at the time of filing this report or whether the the primary will go into voting to be decided by delegates.
A reliable source in the APC confided in National Record that if the President fails to communicate his choice or if his eventual choice is not acceptable to APC governors, then delegates will have to decide who becomes the APC 2023 presidential candidate later today.
