THE International Labour Organization (ILO) is set to release an initial assessment of the impact of the Ukraine crisis on the world of work, on Wednesday, 11th May, 2022.
The ILO, on Friday in a press release posted on its website, stated that the impact assessment explains how economic disruption, combined with significant internal population displacement and flows of refugees, is causing large-scale losses in terms of employment and income. It includes estimates of how the situation could worsen if the hostilities escalate.
It also examines the impact of the crisis on some neighbouring countries – including Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Slovakia – and in Central Asia.
The report, along with associated materials, which ILO said are “under STRICT EMBARGO until Wednesday 11 May at 13:00 CEST (11:00 GMT),” also explain how the conflict could complicate the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
