THE PRESIDENT/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. David Daser, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Institute to transform DBI into a world-class centre for digital skills acquisition, research, innovation, and policy development.

Daser made the declaration following the inaugural meeting of the newly-appointed Interim Governing Board of the Institute, chaired by Princess Oforitsenere Emiko, at the DBI headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, the meeting marks the beginning of a new phase in the Institute’s strategic transformation aimed at positioning DBI as Nigeria’s leading institution for digital capacity development and a globally recognised centre of excellence.

He stated that, with the strategic guidance of the Governing Board and the continued support of the Nigerian Communications Commission, the Institute is strengthening its resolve to build a world-class institution that will equip Nigerians with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities required to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

“I had the honour of welcoming the newly appointed Interim Chairman of the Governing Board of the Digital Bridge Institute, Princess Oforitsenere Emiko, alongside other distinguished Board members, as we held the inaugural meeting of the Board at our headquarters in Abuja,” Daser said on his Social Media handle.

He added that the Board’s inauguration represents another important milestone in repositioning DBI as Nigeria’s foremost institution for digital skills development, research, innovation, and policy leadership.

Daser also expressed optimism about working closely with Princess Emiko and other members of the Governing Board, including Engr. Abraham Oshadami and Ms. Rimini Makama, to accelerate the Institute’s transformation agenda.

He noted that the collaboration between the Board, the management of DBI, and the NCC would further strengthen the Institute’s capacity to deliver high-quality digital skills training and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s digital transformation objectives.

“The future is digital, and we remain committed to ensuring Nigeria is not just a participant but a leader in shaping it,” Daser said.

The Digital Bridge Institute, the training arm of the NCC, has continued to expand its programmes in digital skills development, emerging technologies, innovation, and capacity building as part of efforts to bridge Nigeria’s digital skills gap and support the country’s transition to a knowledge-driven economy.
