THE RECENT appointment of Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Odo, JP, as the Acting Clerk of the Senate of the National Assembly has been met with widespread jubilation and pride from his homeland in Edumoga.
In a press statement on Friday, September 19, 2025, made available to National Record, a socio-political pressure group, Edumoga Che Nche Development Forum, while expressing its heartfelt congratulations to Chief Odo, described his elevation as a “beacon of collective progress” for the entire Edumoga Community.
The statement, signed by the Forum’s President, Amb. Stephen Ejembi Ola (KSM), and General Secretary, Mr Christopher Justice Obochi, said all sons and daughters of Edumoga land in Okpokwu LGA of Benue State received the news of Chief Odo’s appointment by the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) with “immense and overflowing joy, pride, and profound satisfaction.”
Noting that it was speaking on behalf of its members and the entire people of Edumoga land, the Forum emphasised that it viewed the appointment not merely as a personal achievement for Chief Odo but also as a significant milestone for the people of Edumoga.
The Forum highlighted that the prestigious appointment is a “most deserving recognition” of Chief Odo’s “unparalleled diligence, exceptional administrative competence, and unwavering dedication to the service of our nation.”
Stating that his elevation, rooted in a proven track record, serves as a great inspiration to all, especially the teeming youth of Edumoga in particular, and in Idoma land and Benue State in general, the Forum praised Odo’s character and credentials, expressing particular elation that a “distinguished son of Edumoga” has been found worthy to occupy such a pivotal position at the apex of the nation’s legislative bureaucracy.
It credited Chief Odo with hoisting “the banner of Edumoga high on the national stage, illuminating the path for generations to come.”
Expressing full confidence in his abilities, the Forum stated that it expects Chief Odo to bring his trademark “wisdom, grace, and transformative leadership” to the role.
It further expressed certainty that Odo will not only justify the confidence reposed in him by the NASC but will exceed expectations by bringing innovation and steadfast integrity to the Office of the Clerk of the Senate.
The letter concluded with prayers for divine wisdom, robust health, and unparalleled strength for Chief Odo as he embarks on his new national assignment.
