THE MANAGING Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye, has emphasized the critical role of technology, digital skills, and literacy in improving service delivery within the Fund and other government agencies.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. David Daser, in Abuja on Wednesday, Faleye reaffirmed NSITF’s commitment to specialized and continuous staff training to enhance operational efficiency.

He stated that the Fund is actively exploring measures to strengthen in-house capabilities while collaborating with relevant organizations to achieve this objective.

In line with this vision, the Managing Director approved a high-level partnership with DBI, a leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training institute established by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) 21 years ago.

He further directed the formation of a committee to finalize arrangements for the digital literacy and proficiency training of NSITF personnel.

Faleye commended DBI’s contributions to advancing digital literacy in Nigeria, noting that certifications from the institute would significantly benefit NSITF and other government agencies.

He highlighted the importance of digital certification and capacity building, stating that training and retraining are crucial for technological advancement. He expressed openness to collaborations that add value to NSITF’s operations.

On leveraging technology for service delivery, he mentioned a recent conference on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance opportunities in the Health and Safety sector, a core aspect of the Fund’s mandate. He stressed the Fund’s commitment to adopting technology to drive progress across all operations.

Regarding customized training programs, Faleye expressed confidence that NSITF’s ICT and Human Resources teams would work with DBI to develop tailored programs aligned with the Fund’s needs.

He emphasized that strategic collaboration is key to technological transformation, noting that capacity-building initiatives will be essential in equipping personnel to manage this transition.

In his remarks, Mr. Daser highlighted DBI’s nationwide presence and readiness to support NSITF’s workforce across all geopolitical zones. He expressed the institute’s willingness to integrate certification programs into the career progression framework of NSITF staff.

Daser noted DBI’s broad geographical reach, including partnerships that enable training delivery in regions such as the South-South, ensuring accessibility for NSITF staff nationwide.

He also mentioned ongoing collaborations with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction on initiatives like the ‘Skilled Tours’ program, which empowers young Nigerians, as examples of inter-agency cooperation that enhances public sector efficiency.

Daser reiterated DBI’s commitment to serving as a dependable partner in advancing digital proficiency within NSITF and proposed incorporating ICT certifications into staff career development plans to institutionalize capacity-building efforts.

Following the discussions, Barrister Faleye directed NSITF’s ICT and Human Resources teams to assess internal requirements and align them with DBI’s offerings to ensure a seamless collaboration.

He reiterated the Fund’s openness to partnerships that drive technological advancement and operational excellence.

This engagement marks a significant step in NSITF’s efforts to modernize its workforce and enhance service delivery through digital innovation.
