THE NIGERIAN National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in a bid to enhance Nigeria’s energy security and drive shared economic prosperity.

A press statement signed by Mr Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., stated that the pledge was made during a courtesy visit by Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Thursday.

Dangote emphasized the importance of cooperation over competition, stating: “There is no competition between us. We are not here to compete with NNPC Ltd.

“NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of NNPC. This is an era of cooperation between the two organizations.”

He commended the new NNPC management on their appointments and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on the critical task of ensuring energy security for the nation.

In response, Ojulari assured Dangote of NNPC’s readiness to foster a mutually beneficial partnership anchored on healthy competition and strategic collaboration.

He praised the NNPC workforce as highly skilled professionals dedicated to delivering value for Nigeria and reiterated the company’s commitment to working with the Dangote Group in areas of commercial advantage.

Both leaders agreed to serve as relationship managers for their respective organizations, ensuring sustained collaboration and healthy competition to unlock new opportunities for Nigeria’s energy sector.

The meeting underscores the shared vision of both entities in driving innovation, energy security, and national prosperity.
