THE GUILD of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has congratulated Mr. Femi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), on winning the Spokesperson in the Oil and Gas Sector Award for 2025.
The award was presented by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Thursday, April 17.
In a statement issued on Sunday, April 20, GOCOP President, Maureen Chigbo, commended Mr. Soneye’s achievement, noting that it reflects his professionalism and dedication to effective communication.
The statement, signed by GOCOP Publicity Secretary, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, read: “This recognition underscores your commitment to transparency, professionalism, and strategic communication in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
“Your leadership at NNPC Ltd has set a high standard for corporate communication in the industry.”
Ms. Chigbo also highlighted Mr. Soneye’s previous membership in GOCOP before his appointment at NNPC Ltd, describing his achievement as an honour for both him and the organization.
On behalf of GOCOP’s 120 members, Ms. Chigbo extended congratulations to Mr. Soneye and encouraged him to continue enhancing the national oil company’s reputation.
“GOCOP commends Mr. Soneye for his contributions to corporate communication in Nigeria and celebrates this well-deserved recognition.
“We are proud of your association with the Guild and wish you continued success in your role,” the statement concluded.
