IN THE beginning, God said: “Let there be light,” and with that, darkness was dispelled. This powerful phrase from Genesis 1: 3 symbolises the transformative impact of light on darkness.
We have a duty to rise up to condemn and put to an end the wickedness of our evil leaders. What is one person doing with 753 duplexes, if not greed? Abuja is replete with cosy houses that people can’t afford to rent. Most, if not all, of them are proceeds of corruption. The story is the same in all state capitals in Nigeria. No one is going deliver us, except ourselves.
Similarly, activists bring light to the darkness created by evil leaders, fighting against injustice and promoting positive change. Governance in most developing nations are carried out under the shades of darkness. Without citizens rising to demand for accountability and openness, we may never experience meaningful development in Africa and Nigeria in particular.
There are more evil people in the land. A court in Abuja presided over by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie on Monday, December 2, 2024 gave a ruling on a final forfeiture of an estate in Abuja measuring 150,500 square metres and containing 753 Units of duplexes and other apartments. All the buildings belong to one person. This is madness!
Light represents hope, understanding, and progress. It shines a beacon on the truth, exposing the evil that seeks to hide in the shadows. Activists embody this light, working tirelessly to educate, mobilise, and inspire others to join the fight against oppression. Without activists, darkness will engulf the land.

Nigeria today needs at least ten VeryDarkMan in every state. We need at least one Brekete TV programme in every state capital of this country. We need more Dele Farotimis, Deji Adeyanjus, Amechi Abadoms, Aj Dagga Tolas and many more. We need to reduce the thickness of darkness menacingly hovering over this nation.
Activists are God’s beloved children. Arrest will be made, just like the case of Mr. Farotimi, over flimsy and frivolous excuses, but if we remain resolute, the darkness in our horizon will be dispelled.
Activists are the guardians of justice, advocating for the rights of the marginalised and vulnerable. They challenge unjust systems, demand accountability, and push for reform. Through non-violent resistance, grassroots organising, and strategic advocacy, activists bring attention to critical issues and create opportunities for transformation. If you are not involved in activism for the growth and betterment of your country, you are either an evil person or a coward. We are living in an era of unprecedented greed and selfishness. It will take the synergy of the activists to rescue this great nation of God from the talons of evil elites.

Evil leaders are encouraged by cowards and indolent citizens. They often rely on fear, deception, and manipulation to maintain their hold on power. Activists, however, rely on courage, conviction, and community to challenge this darkness. By shedding light on human rights abuses, corruption, and inequality, activists create a counter-narrative that empowers people to demand change.
In the face of darkness, activists are the light that shine brightest. They remind us that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope for a better future. As we continue to strive for justice and equality, let us draw inspiration from the courage and resilience of activists around the world. For in the words of Genesis, “Let there be light” – and let activists be the beacon that guides us toward a brighter tomorrow.
If you see what is bad or wrong, beam light on it, raise your voice and don’t leave until correction is effected. There seems to be an evil conspiracy by the elites to destroy this nation. The people who enjoyed free education and were hired right from school, have completely destroyed the country.

The Civil Rights Movement in the United States, led by activists like Martin Luther King Jr., brought attention to racial inequality and paved the way for landmark legislation. The anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, driven by activists like Nelson Mandela, helped dismantle a system of institutionalised racism. The women’s suffrage movement, led by activists like Susan B. Anthony, secured women’s right to vote. There are so much to be done in Nigeria.
Our civil service is riven and riddled with corruption. It is one of the most corrupt in the world. From ministries to parastatals, departments and agencies of government, armed forces, local governments, customs, doctors, mechanics, market men and women, politicians, electoral institutions, teachers and students, the stories stink.

The judiciary is now decaying with the speed of light, and there seems not to be help in sight. Corruption has become a culture. God isn’t going to come down to save us. He is going to use human beings to sanitise our land. Be prepared, make yourself available to be used.
