THE PIONEER proprietor, Benysta and Angus Colleges, Makurdi, and member representing Gwer East/Gwer West at the House of Representatives, Hon. Asema Achado, has promised to give a 20 per cent waiver in fees to current students of the schools who would choose to remain in the co-educational boarding facilities at Angus Fraser College, Makurdi.
Achado announced this during the combined graduation ceremonies of Benysta College and Angus College, Makurdi, on Friday, saying the new campus of the school would also be upgraded to meet national and international standards.
“The new school here is now going to be a boarding school, and considering the economic situation now, there is still the option for students who are current students of Benysta College and Angus College to have a 20 per cent waiver if they choose to remain in Angus Fraser College,” the federal lawmaker said.
Achado, who appreciated the staff and parents for their contributions to the academic success recorded by the college, assured that all their institutions would continue to maintain high quality through standard facilities and qualified teachers towards sustainable academic excellence.
In his address, the current proprietor of the conglomerate of Colleges, Dr. Edward Achado, charged the graduating students to always maintain sterling morals and academic excellence as inculcated in them by their parents and teachers.
“I am certain that most of you have taken your JAMB and WAEC, and they selected universities for you. This is just the starting point, and from there, you can go further. I like to encourage you to sort out and choose the best schools and keep motivating yourselves, keep trying,” Edward Achado advised.
Earlier, Vice Principal, Academics, Mr. Robert Jimin, who presented the graduands, said 91 students graduated at the senior level, while 101 passed at the junior level.
In a welcome speech, the Principal of Benysta College, Mr. Emmanuel Awua, disclosed that most of the graduating students met the requirements of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for tertiary education.
In their separate remarks, the Head Boy and Head Girl of the graduating classes, Samuel Msugh and Edith Akume, appreciated their teachers and parents for grooming them to excellence, promising never to disappoint them even when they proceed to tertiary institutions.
