A SENIOR Magistrates’ Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja, has sentenced a 28-year-old housewife, Faith Felix, to eight months in prison for pouring hot water on her co-wife.

The woman, who resides in Gosa Toge along Airport Road in the FCT, was convicted and sentenced for criminal force, assault and causing grievous hurt, to which she begged the court for leniency.

The Senior Magistrate, N.A. Turkur, who sentenced her to eight months imprisonment without option of fine, warned her to desist from committing such act and be of good behaviour.

Yakubu said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 267, 268 and 247 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
