FORMER Nigerian President, General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd), has congratulated his Special Assistant (SA), Mr Atom Lim, on his emergence as the President of Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School Old Boys Association (MSGOBA), Set 2001.
The former Nigerian president expressed confidence in Lim’s ability to deliver on the mandate.
Obasanjo, who spoke virtually during the inauguration dinner in honor of MSGOBA set 2001, 2023 Exco under the leadership of Lim, said he has interacted with him (Lim) officially over the years and his competence was not in doubt.
“You judge the quality of a particular institution by the products of that institution and you have been an asset to your old school,” Obasanjo stated.
He advised Lim to set a target of what he wants to achieve as MSGOBA Set 2001 president, wishing him a successful tenure.
In his post inaugural speech, Lim promised to provide good leadership to his mates and to ensure they contribute to the development of themselves, the school and the community in general, using the creativity of his members who are now in all walks of life.

He disclosed that they have launched set 2001 investment limited, a company created to take care of the interest of their members.
Earlier in his welcome address, outgone president of the association, Mr Alexander Onoja, who headed MSGOBA Set 2001 for two terms (4 years) said, his Exco was able to renovate sporting facilities within the school, adding that among other achievements, they provided more beds in the sickbay built by his predecessor.
Onoja further stated that his Exco had made efforts to renovate the sickbay and relocate it to a permanent site to no avail owing to COVID-19 outbreak which made it difficult for them to raise funds to execute the project and tasked his successor to continue from where he stopped and complete the project. Speaking on the sidelines, Vice Chancellor, University of Mkar, Gboko, Benue State, Prof. Zakarys Anger Gundu, commended the old boys for coming together to give back to the school what the school had invested in them and urged others to borrow a leaf from the Gabrielites.
